Eight 8 oz. glasses per day, half your body weight in ounces, etc.
However you slice it, chances are you’re not getting enough water during your day.
Staying hydrated is important for so many reasons. Adequate water intake improves digestion, increases energy, flushes toxins from the body, carries nutrients to cells efficiently, etc.
As a general rule it is recommended that women take in about 2.7 liters per day (roughly 11 cups) and men 3.7 liters (about 16 cups). An easy mental picture is to envision a 2 liter soda bottle. Women need about 1-1/2 bottles of water per day, while men need almost 2 full bottles.
The easiest way to get your water in is to carry a water bottle with you. Stay away from plastic bottles, as they can leach toxins into your water. I prefer a glass bottle, but stainless would work also. Here is the bottle I am currently using, but anything similar will do just fine, as long as it is convenient enough to keep with you.
Remember that your water intake will vary slightly from day to day depending on your activity level, work environment, weather conditions, etc.
Water you waiting for? Get to it. 🙂
